The Reference 8 K – our smallest floor-standing speaker from the Reference K series and yet a completely grown-up loudspeaker that makes no compromises in terms of sound and boasts the best qualities from Canton. Thanks to its harmonious proportions and elegant surface design, it is suitable for any living space. The two ceramic tungsten bass drivers with a diameter of 154 millimeters, specially developed for the Reference K series, ensure a powerful appearance and breathtaking depth. The midrange specialist is exactly the same size and, with its light and stiff ceramic tungsten membrane, reproduces midrange tones in an inimitable manner in a highly neutral and balanced manner. Thanks to the low-loss wave surrounds that clamp the midrange and woofers and the excellently resolving ceramic tweeter, the Reference 8 K impresses with its excellent fine dynamics even at low volumes. The acoustically optimized housings with curved side walls and rounded edges ensure ideal radiation behavior of the slim floor-standing speakers.

The Reference 8 K benefits immensely in terms of sound from the solid, multi-braced housings made of multi-layer laminate, which keep sound-reducing resonances away from the loudspeaker chassis used. In the bass and mid-range range, we use our most technically sophisticated and advanced chassis. We use the excellent material properties of the aluminum-ceramic membranes refined with tungsten particles, which are characterized by their enormous rigidity and high internal damping at the same time - and all this with very low weight and an extended frequency range. The excellent 25 mm tweeter dome with aluminum oxide ceramic membrane is used in the treble. Sound-optimized crossover components and the highly effective base construction with bass guide ensure the highest possible sound fidelity. The Reference 8 K is equipped with a high-quality biwiring/biamping connection terminal, which means that the bass and mid-high ranges can be controlled separately with different amplifiers or with specialized cables. 24 carat gold-plated, sturdy screw terminals that can accommodate cable cross-sections of up to 10 mm2 ensure optimum signal transmission. The levels for the mid and high frequency range can be sensitively adjusted on the connection terminal, depending on personal preferences or room acoustics.

We develop and manufacture the loudspeaker systems of our Reference K series in our factory in Weilrod in the Taunus. This is the only way we can maintain the necessary quality standards, minimize tolerances, eliminate any errors and meet the high sound requirements of our top products. The housings of the Reference 8 K are made of high-quality multi-layer laminate and are elaborately finished: in twelve work steps, the high-gloss surface seal "Piano Finish" is applied, sanded and elaborately polished. It gives the housing of the Reference 8 K an overwhelming depth effect. As an alternative, we offer you the Reference 8 K in an even more elegant and visually truly impressive version: the housings in cherry real wood veneer with "Piano Finish" are pure craftsmanship and inspire with their lively grain and warm color. Acoustically optimized fabric covers, which are elegantly attached to the baffle using magnets, confidently round off the elegant appearance.
