The iconic Aquarius has been dramatically improved and boldly redesigned. Not only does the V5 model have a modern look and appear as if it were made from a single block of aluminum, it also features the latest technical innovations from the leading brand in the specialist field of power systems for audio and AV systems.

The V5 Aquarius is an innovative power filter and power distributor measuring 450mm wide, 350mm deep and 110mm high. It has 6 independent sockets, each with its own dedicated filter network. Thus, the Aquarius offers six power filters in one box. Both differential and common mode interference are drastically reduced. Cross-contamination of the connected components is also kept to a minimum by the separate filter stages for each output socket. Most power filters of this type have interconnected, series-connected outputs. This is a mistake, and not particularly smart either, as the differential mode interference generated by the connected electronics then spreads from one output socket to the other.

The electrical architecture and design of the V5 Aquarius has been dramatically improved. PCB design and topology have been revised to provide over 35% improved current and lower resistance. Critical (bespoke) component parts have lower tolerances, resulting in lower inductance and improved current handling. The new circuit offers double the inductance, increasing current by 40%, resulting in more open soundstage, microdynamics and detail with improved timing. A dramatically improved DCR has been created throughout the design. IsoTek's goal here was to reduce DCR and bring performance closer to the zero ohm ideal, improving the V5 Aquarius by at least 25% compared to its predecessor.

These technological advances mean that the V5 Aquarius delivers higher absolute power, within the limits of what the energy supplier can deliver and what regulations allow.

The V5 design features two thermal magnetic fuses, one at 16A for the two high current output sockets delivering 3680W at 230V or 1840W at 115V. The second at 6A for the four remaining output sockets delivering 1380W at 230V or 690W at 115V. These are for source components/preamplifiers and feature IsoTek's unique Adaptive Gating technology, which automatically detects the connected load and provides an optimal level of filtering based on the power consumption.

The thermomagnetic system is a significant improvement over a standard fuse due to the contact area. Due to its electrical function, a standard fuse must have a very thin wire, this also applies to expensive audiophile gold-plated versions.
