The special feature of the EVOLUTION MP 5.3 is its Tube Line Stage. This amplification stage, equipped with AVM's own tubes, is located in the preamplifier section of the audiophile masterpiece. Based on these tubes, which were specially made for AVM, we have developed a completely new circuit for the new EVOLUTION series, which fully unfolds the sonic charm of the AVM tubes. Due to this AVM-specific circuit technology, a pleasingly long service life of the tubes is guaranteed (approx. 20,000 hours). The EVOLUTION MP 5.3 also differs visually from the MP 3.3 in the glass pane in the housing cover. The tube stages can be easily observed at work through this darkened window.

AVM has been specializing in high-end players with powerful sound since the 1990s. A new high-performance generation of the MP device category has been created based on the AVM X-STREAM Engine®. In addition to numerous innovations, the new RC X app completely controls the EVOLUTION MP 3.3 / 5.3 media players. With these high-performance media players, not only CD collections but also all streaming formats can be played at the highest sound level. All modern connections are available, so that a television can be connected via HDMI ARC, for example. In order to achieve our goal of designing the most powerful media player devices on the world market, we have taken inspiration from our flagship MP 8.3. The EVOLUTION MP media players now impress with a screwless precision housing made of brushed aluminum that is only 43 cm wide and has a minimalist elegance in its symmetrical design. Here we are once again taking AVM’s design credo ‘Reduce to the Max’ to the extreme.

The main focus of the RC X app was on a completely modernized control system. Extremely simple, intuitive operation and a clear and attractively designed user interface make managing even large music collections child's play. This makes you want to go on a journey of discovery for new music on numerous streaming platforms. The supplied selection of Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, QOBUZ and HighResAudio can also be easily expanded in the future. The AVM RC X app is available for both iOS (Apple) and Android controlled devices.

The new AVM X-STREAM Engine® can stream all high-resolution formats up to resolutions of 384/32, including DSD (256). This streaming engine is an in-house development by AVM and is completely software-based - this means that the AVM X-STREAM Engine® can be updated online in a future-proof manner. An HDMI (ARC) interface is also on board, as is a modern Bluetooth 5.0 connection. Additional digital inputs and a USB A interface are standard. The digital outputs are completely new and can now also be volume-controlled if required. The volume of the analog outputs (RCA & XLR) can also be controlled. This volume control of the MP 5.3 and MP 3.3 is completely analog. In addition, the digital inputs can be switched to signal-sensitive. This means that the MP 3.3/5.3 switches on as soon as a signal is fed to the digital inputs. These outputs can also output a volume-controlled digital signal.

In terms of sound, there has also been a huge improvement over the predecessor. The digital section in particular has been completely redesigned as part of the new development, as this crucial part is based on the selected ESS9028 PRO Double-Quad DAC. There is also a clear improvement in terms of sound, which is accompanied by a great deal of circuitry: 4 D/A converters per channel work in parallel. This effort benefits all digital sources in terms of sound, so that all high-resolution formats can be reproduced perfectly and true to nature. A special highlight: the upsampling rates and filter characteristics can be conveniently selected and adjusted from the listening position using the app.

The new EVOLUTION media players are available in the standard colors aluminum silver or black, and on request also as an elegant CELLINI version with a chrome-plated and hand-polished front. Like all AVM EVOLUTION devices, the EVOLUTION media players are also made entirely by hand in AVM's audiophile luxury factory in Malsch. The vast majority of suppliers, e.g. for the precise housing parts, are also based in the immediate vicinity of our main factory.
