Profi-Meinung

This top converter sounds transparent in the best sense of the word. Atoll places great emphasis on power handling in its products. Each individual stage is supplied separately with specially developed power supplies. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 132 dB, it is one of the top converters on the market.

The DAC 300 is more than just a digital control center. The volume control turns it into a complete digital preamplifier!

In total, the DAC 200 offers connections to 9 digital sources: 3x optical, 3x coaxial, 1x AES/EBU, 1x USB and Bluetooth.
USB supports asynchronous playback up to PCM384k and DSD64-512.

These high data rates also require a corresponding DA converter component. In the case of the DAC 300, the high-end converter from SABRE: ES9038PRO, which even works up to 32/768!
It is clocked by an ultra-low-jitter clock and supplied by a special, ultra-low-noise voltage source with <1µVrms noise.

It continues with the discretely constructed balanced Class-A output stage without feedback with MKP capacitors. This prepares the signals for forwarding and leads them to the outside via XLR and RCA sockets.
The electronics are supplied by 3 separate transformers, 7 (!) separate voltage stabilizers prevent interference between the circuits.

If you are not dizzy yet, take a look at the front of the device:
Simple and tidy: in the middle there is a clearly legible, energy-saving OLED display which shows the selected source and sampling rate.
To the left of it is an encoder for source selection, to the right of it another for volume adjustment (if this has not been deactivated) and for selecting the digital filter.
This allows you to vary the sound characteristics.
One thing remains the same regardless of the settings: the DAC 300's sound is top notch!
