Black Lab
Contrary to what their name suggests, Labradors originated in Newfoundland, where they were first known as "Saint John's dogs" around 1700. The dog known today as Labradors was created when this Newfoundland breed was crossed with smaller water dogs. Labradors (black or other colored) are known for their sense of duty, highly developed nose and hearing, and their ability to retrieve endlessly (after all, a retriever is a retriever). All of these traits make Labradors excellent companion dogs for people with disabilities, as well as wonderful pets.

SOLID LONG CRYSTALLINE COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS :
Solid conductors prevent distortion caused by strands interfering with each other. The solid long-crystalline copper (LGC) in the Black Lab allows for a more balanced, clearer sound than cables with the usual oxygen-free, high-conductivity copper (OFHC). OFHC is a general metals industry specification that looks at "losses" without any consideration of distortion. LGC has fewer oxides in the conductive material, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries and offers significantly better performance.

POLYETHYLENE FOAM INSULATION :
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor becomes part of an incomplete electrical network. Wire insulation and circuit board material absorb energy (losses). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. In the Black Lab, air-filled polyethylene foam insulation is used for both conductors because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to the air in the polyethylene foam, it causes significantly less blurring than other materials.

METAL LAYER NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS) :
Achieving 100% shielding is easy. To prevent “captured” RF interference from affecting the ground reference of the device, the AudioQuest Noise Dissipation System is required. It blocks the majority of RF interference from reaching the ground plane of the device.

COLD WELDED, GOLD PLATED RCA CONNECTORS :
This connector design allows connections to be made without solder, a common source of noise. Because the ferrules are stamped rather than machined, the metal can be selected for low distortion rather than machinability.
